Round 2 %'s, Goals, and a bit of Nerdyness.

Well, rest day is over, and now I get to start round two, upping the reps, and knowing a bit more about myself already.

my body fat % is in the normal range, which is alright, but I want it to be lower, like, in the "fit" range,
here are a couple charts to demonstrate what I mean:

Essentially, the same thing, but one has more colors, and an error, but nevermind that.

So, I'm in the average category, and I want to get down to fitness. I really don't have that far to go, so I think by the end of this challenge, that would be possible. After this challenge, I'm going to look for more (there are several exercise calendars where I got this NEN one from, so I don't have to look far if I don't want to).

What purpose would getting down to the fitness area serve, you might be asking? Well, for one, I'll look and feel better, which is a plus for sure, and for two, I can start working on another goal - get to the athletic level.

"Now, why would you want to go and do a thing like that?" you might be asking. Well, for startskies, while it may neither help nor hinder my ability to eventually start training MMA, I think it would help that I won't have to work as hard, by the time I start, ....let me rethink how to phrase this and give it to you guys later, 'cuz it's in my head, but it's not coming out to my fingers very well...

But it probably won't have any effect on my MMA anything.

"Why all this talk about MMA all sudden-like", you might be pondering.
Well, it all started in the dorms, when one of my input brothers was doing his muay thai stuff in what used to be the smoking area. I wanted to learn. I was of course, told it was too dangerous and that I shouldn't (well, the exact words were more like "you are forbidden to learn muay thai, and if I catch you learning it, I'ma whoop yo ass". I took this as a challenge to learn it - very very very well, of course - and spar with said input brother later. Though, now I feel as though no sparring would be necessary, a of all) I'm a grown ass woman, and b of all) I started learning it from another friend, and had nothing but fun! My kicks improved super well, very fast. I have to work on punches, and everything else, though.

I also want to re-learn capoeira and continue with that as well, then combine the two, 'cuz that sounds like fun. I dont' think I'll be revisiting judo. tried that for a couple years, and HATED it. Sure, there were some fun times, but...I don't think it's the sport for moi.

I also want to learn Yoga. There's endless sources on the internet, but one of my coworkers is currently doing workshops on the philosophy of it, she used to teach yoga for years. I feel like maybe I could learn the philosophy of it from her, and the rest from el wonderful internet. Yes. Another goal.
I also think mixing that with my stretches would help in my contortionism goals. I don't think I want to join the circus just yet, though.

But there's one thing I've been neglecting the heck out of - Nerd Fitness, my original go-to for fitness related helps and infoz. So I'm back on the site now, after having mentioned it to my teacher this morning - I should thank him again for those dry-erase markers. Boy is Aiden in for a surprise when we get home tonight, lol.
Anyway, back to the Rebellion (Hey, it's Nerd Fitness, emphasis on Nerd, yo.)

If you're a nerd, check it out, if you like fitness, also, check it out, if you're not, and you don't, you should probably still just give it a look just 'cuz it's fun and kinda funny. Star Wars, Mario, lots of cool stuff.  If you're Aiden - Hi ^___________________________________^

NEN week 1 update

as promised, here's my update to you all for week one of NEN.

I weighed in this morning before I ate, and while there was a five pound increase, there was a one inch decrease, and I feel like I"m looking better, so I can't attribute the weight to fat, and since my workouts are all body-weight except my cardio, I'll have to assume that some of it was muscle.
However, I did eat right before bed (probably didn't affect it much, but funny story here...well, in retrospect, anyway), so I'll be cutting potatoes almost completely out of my diet (you have no idea how serious I am about eating potatoes, if they are present in any form, I"m probably gonna have some. no lie), and the sweets that are allowed in the diet, I'll try to cut it down to like, maybe four days a week, more if necessary.

so, how I ended up eating last night right before bed:
I thought it would be a great idea to surprise Aiden, since he likes to eat and wach a movie for a while when he comes back from work, so since I couldn't sleep, I decided to try these rice wrappers that I found at the shanghai market (speaking of which, they have my favorite kimchi again!), and I got some green mung been noodles, because I wanted o make hmongtown egg rolls, and I figured once fried, these would be thin enough to be the perfect freaking wrappers! I was so excited! so I (mistake 1) flavored the oil how I wanted the chicken flavored - it was hot oil too) with way the fuck too much pepper, and some other things I like, and proceeded to cook the chicken while I worked on a wrapper.

next, (mistake 2), once the chicken was done, I put that and the noodles in the wrapper, but wanting to save on oil, I didn't put more in. I thought there was enough, anyway. The wrapper got stuck to the pan, noodles came out, and I was having a cough/sneeze fit because there was so much pepper in the air. so I turn the fan on...just bad all over. So I clean up a bit, put the unused food away, and head to bed, literally 8 minutes before he gets home. I figure I can pretend to sleep like nothing ever happened.

All to find out that he just wanted soup anyway, lol.

So, once he came home, and I heard him coughing, I felt kinda bad and went to 'splain myself. Then I hung out with him on the couch for movie time. 'til I fell asleep, 'course.

But it was still fun.

So, next week, expect an update from me. Today is resty day. Can't ait to up my reps.

Election Day Adventure

Election Day Adventure

Of freaking doom!
We’ll get to that in a sec, though.
First off: I dropped my transcript off at uni, and found out that they’ve already started reviewing my app. I’m nervous, but not negatively. Then I went to eat, ‘cuz I was flipping starving! Not even healthy food, I went to one of the biggest Micky D’s I’ve ever been to, and then since the bus wasn’t here, yet, I went to CVS to check out wether they had Moon Pies (I’ve been Jonesing every since a Korean Snack Tub episode….)
Anyway, they didn’t have that, but what’s better than half price Halloween candy? Free Halloween candy, but since I didn’t get that, I found some half price.
SO AWESOME!!!
Have I shown you guys this owl? hand carved. neat, 'eh? Yes, it was huge.

Then I waited for half an hour for a bus, the ride was about as long, and then begins the adventure. Since I’m not good at orienteering without a compass, we’ll call the directions 1, 2, 3, and 4, like a square.
So, I head in direction 1 for about a mile, maybe a little more, when I turn to direction 2 for about 1.5 miles (keep in mind, I’m wearing a 15 pound+ backpack this whole time), then I head in direction 3 about two blocks only to find that the polling place was closed. So backtracked direction 3 by two blocks, headed in direction 2 for four more blocks, and then direction 4 for a good 1.5 miles, when I gave up and took the bus what ended up being another mile, only to find out that the place I ended up at wasn’t my polling place, either. The people were helpful, surprised I walked so far (I did not tell them how far I actually walked, that would have bored them, I’m sure.), and sent me in the right direction. Well, backtracking direction 4 by foot 2.5 miles, I took the bus back in direction2, and headed back in direction 1 for half a mile. Voted, and walked back to the bus stop so I could go home.
This is my profile pic on cyworld, do you have one?

Lesson learned: the internet sucks, and if you don’t know where to go (because your polling place closes without notice – I’m sure there was, I just didn’t get it…), call your county.

So, that was my adventure. And yes, I still did my legs workout, ‘cuz there’s no fucking excuses this month, election adventure gone awry or not!

But I’m sore…just not from my workouts …yet…
Anyway, I hope you all went out and voted. No, I don’t regret my experience, today. I was so determined to not come home until I voted that I probably subconsciously made more trouble than I had to for myself just to make sure that I did go vote.
Yes, I'm this ADD if you guys can't tell already, lol.

Remember, every vote counts. If you don’t like something, vote to change it. If you’re hunky dory the way things are, vote to keep them the same. Just don’t get mad when you didn’t vote and the opposite of what you fancy happens.

Now, we shall await the results. ^_____^

NEN2 and GINGERBREAD SHAKES ARE AWESOMMMME

This is gonna be a long post, 'cuz they're blogs I wrote during the weekend when I had no internet, so...I apologize profusely. Enjoy some piccys of me thorughout, lol.

9/3/12
Hey, guys. Here’s an update on my NEN (no excuse November).

I’m serious about this, you guys. I started a day late, so I did two exercise days in one.  I just did my exercises for today,  they consisted of the leg exercises from the NEN and then some stretches, and more because I want to try contortioning out. I’m not gonna be all dangerous and jump into it, but ease my way in, lol.
I used to spend like an hour a day just stretching, but these contortion stretches (some of which I was just instinctively doing anyway ‘cuz they felt good) I added in were great!!!

In no way relates to blog, lol. But look, that's part of my dorm. Seriously, though, post it notes are great for remembering chiz before you leave the house...room...

I also jump roped for five minutes today and yesterday. I’ve been trying to do a double jump…not easy. I keep whipping myself instead…I hate it, but I’ll get better, and maybe by end of month I can do that. I used to go for certain amounts of jumps per session, and I might just go back to that, ‘cuz that can take a while. If I mess up while I’m doing a set, I start all over. (but once I get to like sixty or so, it gets frustrating if I’m at sixty and mess up, or freaking 99 when I’m supposed to reach a hundred!!! Oh, does that ever irritate me. )
But tomorrow I start on the abs exercise again, I’m keeping track of my workouts with entourage. It’s pretty convenient, but since I’m not really a mac girl, it took me a sec to figure things out. However, I’m a stubborn “techie”, so I will eventually figure out what I need to. Unless I just have to break down and ask for help.
Also, remember when I was doing the “improvised weight watchers” thing? Well, I stopped ‘cuz…I might have been doing it wrong. Something I can do right, which I was doing before I left the dorms (with nice success, actually), is the morning banana diet. Wait! Stop before you judge me! I know you’re thinking “that’s a fad diet, lady…don’t do that!” But I’m telling you, I was doing it and it worked until I ran out of fruit (more like they started putting pineapple in everything and cutting the bananas up before I could get to them).  I’m very allergic to pineapples so my fruitness was killed. I’ve been religiously buying bananas every Monday though, so I can keep eating them for a week. I love bananas. I mean, if you wanna do it, you can eat whichever fruit you like. I sometimes do apples instead, but since it’s called “morning banana”…..

Anyway, I’d tell you about it, but I’ll probably save that for a later post. My weigh in day is going to be Wednesday since that’s rest-day for the NEN (and since I’m back on track with that, I’ll be following the calendar). On Wednesday, I’ll tell you guys if I’ve made any progress.
Also, for NEN, I’ll be whipping my clarinet out, because I’ve been invited to play classical music with one of my coworkers, who I just found out was at funky Thursday. That was a fun little bit of time, lol.
Nevermind the stain. Like my zoidood? My roomy got cam-happy that day, and I was her subject. I'm sure you 'member my shirt, lol.

Kk, well, I think that’s about it for today. Can’t wait for abs exercises tomorrow.  XD

 Gingerbread Shakes are Awesoooooommmmmmmmmmmme!!!!!

No, I didn’t break my diet, everyone. I’m just a very strong believer in the saying “everything in moderation – even moderation”. My doctor told me that once.
Anyway, Aiden and I went to the grocery store, and afterwards, I wanted to try bk’s new gingerbread shake. It tasted ok, actually. It reminded me of egg not with a bit of gingerbread cookies. (I’d have made it more ginger-y, but that’s just me, lol.)
Once we got back home, Aiden made some great potato soup. We added ham and chicken breast. I was making a Korean double-fried chicken, so before I fried I all, we put some in the soup. The double-fried chicken tasted great, and I finally know what gochujang paste tastes like. I’ve actually had the paste for a while, and not had a real opportunity to use it.

Right now I’m about to amaze aiden. I really like to type in the dark.
Wanna make heart shaped omelettes? I need a bit more practice, lol.

See closed eyes. Hee hee hee hee. Lol. You can’t? hahahahahahahah
Sorry guys, I just had to show Aiden my awesome typing skillz. My mom used to get mad at me for typing on a dark background in a dark room, but when you can type with yoru eyes closed, and sometimes opt to, dark rooms and backgrounds are nothing. (that bit about the closed eyes was because Aiden told me that the keyboard was lighted. I just had to show off. But maybe I should type with my eyes closed more often, ‘cuz I messed up typing most of this document except what I typed with my eyes closed.

We’re watching urn notice. I think the show’s been cancelled, yes? Well, we’re watching it on dvd. He finished season one without me, so I’m watching season two with him, and when I have time, I’ll watch season one on my own.

Anyway, having mentioned my diet five million paragraphs ago, I’m still doing the ‘naner diet. I really like bananas, so it’s a great excuse to eat them every day. I actually almost forgot to get them while we were shopping, but it’s no excuse November, so I’m not about to forget those mofos, lol. Speaking of which, week one is almost up, and Wednesday (tomorrow), is going to be rest day. I haven’t missed a day other than day one, so on day two I did two excersise days. Other than that, I’ve been keeping up really well.
No, I haven't eaten it, but I did take a few tastes while I was camwhoreing today, lol.

Then there’s the matter of cardio. I didn’t read the calendar properly, so I thought it was reffering to the actual exercises. But I did jump rope and excessive walking, so that has to count for something. Today I did jump roping and dancing. My goal is by December….I think Christmas, to have be my baby memorized – song and dance – so I can perform them. Where, I dunno. Probably in the comforts of my own home. I should do breathe again, and I probably will today.  It is good though, to be drenched in sweat after a workout.
There shall be results this month!
Speaking of which, my legs are still sore from my legs workout from a couple days ago. I get to up the reps by two next week. I dunno how I’m gonna survive that. Oh, wait, yes I do! Knowledge that I will be more badass end of month! Yeah! And maybe there’ll be another challenge so that at the end of December, my body will be hella kick-ass!!!
I’m so serial, guys. I don’t wanna be a blob. I wanna be fit and fantabulous.
But having mentioned moderation, another thing I had today (naner diet only allows one sweet a day, uness you’re eating candy balls between meals to keep yourself full….idk, the rules aren’t really that strict, so I had a frankenberry s’more with Aiden, and we put a little piece of taffy in each. They were delicious, but super messy.
I’ll link to my bananaa blogs later, that’s where I keep track of everything I eat (most days, anyway). I’m usually pretty good about it, except when I’m not doing the diet, which happened once. I forgot all about the site, then I remembered, and found out that I got a friend request…from a banned member…I don’t even know how they got banned, I looked at their profile, and they didn’t have any posts anywhere, I think. Well, anyway, if you are interested in joining, I’ll give you my linkies and then we can be friends there.
‘Til next time ^__________________^
But my legs aren’t sore anymore (lol, I wrote most of this last night, haha!)
'nother old ass pic of me. lol.

Next time, I'll probably break it into two...I just dunno if I'll be able to write a second one today since I have to go drop my transcript off at the Uni and then go to vote, lol.

As promised, and ANOTHER CHALLENGE!!!

Let's see how well I stick with it :P. Lol, well, anyway, I'm at starbucks to get some stuff done, I've got one out of probably a million finished, lol.

So, remember when I told you guys I'd be sharing my costume with you?

I totally camwhored this morning. Let's see how many of my pics make the cut, though. lol.

Hahaha, NOT my costume for halloween. (I've lost one of those socks...:(  )

Aah that's more like it, lol.
So, my costume was nerdy pigtails (I tried to muss 'em up all nerdy like), those glasses, my bf put "tape" in the middle of them at my request. That polo is super comfy, I normally use it to sleep in, lol. There's a "0" on the back, and a li'l skull emblem thingy on the front by my camhand. It was gifted to me by a  room mate. Those studded 'spendy's were thrifted, as were the pants (minus a hole...one of my friends put that there...douchebag...) and you can't see it, but I got those nikes I'm wearing at plato's closet, new still with tags and shit on them for only 20 bucks. they feel like HEAVEN 'cuz they're basically all satiny cloth shit, like, WONDERFULLLL. Not a good idea to wear on a rainy day though. That's another blog, lol. Anyway, I hadda wear black leggings under the pants for the hole and cold n...shiz. But the pants brand is mossimo (funny story, I got them for like two or something, and found a buck in them...weird), I didn't have a tie or anything, so that didn't happen. Bu there ya go, my nerd 'fit for the ween of hallows. Oh, and the skull ring that was on my hand in the schoolgirl pic. I wear that thing almost religiously.

So, now I get to tell you lot about this other challenge I'm doing. It's on tumblr, and I'll link to it, later. It's called "No excuses november". Much better than no shave november, which I refuse to participate in. (lol, that's only for boys, anyway).

So, anysnooch, along with not cutting my hair at all 'til march (which reminds me that I have to get home in time to henna my hair again (yes, I'm going through that terrible messy process again..I can't believe myself...) I like how soft it makes my hair feel. I'll be doing these workouts every day in addition to jumping rope. I"m going to increase each week by another five minutes so I"m eventually doing 20 minutes a day. I like to jump rope, but I've been neglecting it 'cuz "I have no where to jump in the house!!!!" psych, there are three hard surfaces, but the kitchen is the most convenient. so, yeah. or I can jump on carpet, idk. anyway, no excuses, it's november and I'm jumping dammit!

kk, I think that's about all.

'til later, 'folks.

psyche, forgot to link the challenge....

Egh, I decided to do something quick

I know I literally just posted something, but we all know I basically do a thursday threefer to make up for mised posts/out of boredom....sorry guys, won't lie 'cuz it's true.

so, anyway, yesterday I found out about this "no Cutting Challenge by youngebz07. I'm subscribed to her blog here on blogger, so I thought this was a good one, as a of all) it's one of my goals, and b of all) I'm curious to see what the difference is if I don't cut for five months (yes, it's a five month challenge) I've been wanting to do more challenges of various types, but I never find the rules, or I find out like...months after they've already ended, which makes me a sad panda each time.

My beginning length is, barely apl (it doesn't count, 'cuz only the longest part of my hair (odd cut) is apl. the rest is shoulder and bangs...wait...this sounds vaguely familiar...I've posted about this before, haven't I?)

Well, anyway, my goal since forever...k...a couple months...I decided that I want to reach apl and then go from there, so that's what's up. I realize that by the time the rest of my hair reaches apl, the longest part might be bsl or just touching mbl (seriously, it was one of those ...I'll show you ...cuts.

on a very short scale, that's my hair cut...somewhat...

a better/worse pic of it is

Yeah, it's somewaht like that, but ...well, I guess it's a mix of the two.

I think you lot should join up if it tickles your fancy. I hope she does another challenge after this, or maybe I'll make my own, idk. I think after seeing where I am in march, if there's not a new challenge, I'll have to make something. But my ultimate goal is hip length hair. (That'll take FOREVERRRRRR, I know lol.)

The worst ever substitute for a moonpie

that ever did exist.

Hi, guys. on my FB I told you that I'd be doing a reviw of the most god-awful piece of satan to ever cross my poor lips and stain my palate with it's cursed foulness. ...K, I didn't use that many words, but that's how awful it tasted.

Do any of you know the brand Russel Stover? Of course you do, if you celebrate easter or love chocolate...well, maybe not the second one, but Russel Stover and Cadbury are two of the biggest holiday chocolatiers I can think of. Well, let's get on with it, shall we?

Well, first, just a pic of my costume (more of it later, I promise, lol...)
I'm a nerdy accountant! (well, you can see how tomorrow...)

Anysnooch, back to the rotten evil of death.

Well...it's kind of like a s'more, after I took a bite...
I tasted it first (bad me), and then I htought...maybe this just needs to be heated up to taste decent...What resulted was the foulest smell to ever exit my poor microwave and a melty pile of nasty goop...I was dismayed.

That's what it was supposed to look like.

How did I end up with this halloween trick disguised as a treat, you ask? I'll tell you.

as I left downtown, I hopped the bus that was supposed to be my ride home. Somewhere along the way, I realized that I was on the wrong one and had to stay on until the end of the line. I was informed that my proper bus would be there in fifteen minutes, so I decided to check out the walgreens in that area, as it was literally right around the corner.

So I go in searching for a moon pie, and stumble upon this. I will tell you now that I had a suspicion in the beginning that I had a bad experience with the Russel Stover brand, but decided that it was probably an isolated event, and after so many years, it could not possibly still taste that bad.

Was I ever mistaken. As you can tell through the entirety of my post, my suspicion was legitimate, and I now know that I will never be laying a finger on anything of that brand. There's something in their chocolate (and marshmallow, I guess...) that I find...repellant. Needless to say, I didn't finish this "s'more"... and opted for one that even without chocolate tasted 10x better than this name brand P.O.C... I just took a graham cracker from the freezer (I'm fond of freezing things...) and four marshmallows that I already had (also frozen). I popped them in the microwave, and there was my delicious treat. I do admit that it's better in the oven, but I wanted something tasty and quick! lol.

Anyway, that was how I ended up with that.

Now, I have to figure out why I'm always light headed around now. I'm feeling better though. Also, I had a speech today, and it went very well. I've been nervous for geez, maybe a month now? But I finally went, and it was awesome. Well...I was nervous, of course, but my classmates were supportive. ^_____^ kk, tafn.
