My Hair is Softer Than That Thang.

... And "That thang" is a cloud...idk.

anyhousenwhosen, I'm sitting here watching one of these Weylie videos, and it reminded me that I have to write about my hair because it feels AMAZING!!!!!

Like I have this thick, relaxed hair, and it used to be drier than the desert, like I kid you not.

So, anysnooch, I was looking around online for things to do with tea tree oil, because I knew it was a great astringent and all that other stuff (there's literally so much info on that stuff it's not even funny, like, wikipedia or something), and I came across this blog where a woman had added some to her shampoo, and I followed a commenter's instructions, because she didn't know how much per oz she had been adding, and the commenter said to add about 1 tablespoon per 200ml. I had a 300ml bottle, so I probably added like ...2.5 or 3. The shampoo I got was a twofer, (shampcon) by Herbal Essences, the Unbreakable Seduction...SO amazing, and it smells great. Also, I really like the smell of tea tree oil, so the fact that it almost overpowers my shampoo smell (until I'm blowdrying), doesn't bother me.

Anyway, I was blowdrying my hair, and I noticed that it was softer than usual already. Then I flat ironed it (which I previously hadn't done for about two weeks or so...I was trying to cut down). It was softer than Aiden's hair. And his hair's pretty dang soft! I've shown you guys pics of him, right? Anyhousenwhosen, it also took care of the dandruff problem I was having ever since I started GHE'ing (which I had previously stopped doing because it caused the dandruff to begin with...I'm probably never going back to that mess). My hair stays soft for days. I still wash twice a week, but I feel like I might be able to cut down now that my hair feels taken care of.

kk, that's all.

psyche!

I forgot to mention that my hair suffers way less breakage. Nary a strand when I comb, and the sink stays pretty clean when I blowdry/iron. I used to have a terrible breakage problem.

hair care update ^_^

Hey, I know none of you are aware that I changed my hair care routine, I was seeing a lot of breakage and was of course displeased by this.

so I went no heat. the first time, I liked my results for the first day, then I went back to bunning (I think I was in a bunning challenge and forgot about it, but I typically bun my hair every day anyhow.)

I made these little mini buns by twisting my hair and they would curl up into spirals when my hair was dry (I also used ample conditioner and coconut oil to moisturize.) But it's happened again, and now it's worse. some of my hair dredded up, well, nearly, anyway.

so now, I'm gonna try something different. I'll only use one heat method, and that'll be my blow dryer. Idk about getting it super straight, but I don't care too much about that right now. puffy is good.

Now, I have to head in to class :P

moar updatez laterzzz.

I henna'd my hair ^_^

but you'll have to excuse my messy hair pics, lol.

Well, editing went terribly…I was fiddling around and…pressed the wrong button…well, no matter. It’s not like I planned on uploading those vids, anyway.
What I do have for you is this: results from my henna-ing project.
It didn’t turn out exactly the same ‘cuz since I followed the directions and didn’t make it a watery mess, I instead made it a gloopy mess, and didn’t’ get every area of my hair covered, and it’s kind of hard to tell when both your hands and hair are messed up with henna.
So here’s me bef ore the project:
So that’s me before I did anything to it, my bangs wouldn’t stay down, so…that’s why, lol.

Lies, that’s the henna I used. Probably not the best, but it didn’t make me go bald, either. (This is the second time I've used it, too.
That’s the henna all mixed up like they said it should be – in a paste.

I really like piggy tails – oh, see count chocula in the background?

Nvm my cleavage...

You can’t tell too well in this pic, but parts of my hair are still just dark brown, so it kind of looks like I’ve got highlights.
Next time, I’m just doing it the messy way again…And a proper oil treatment. I love doing oil treatments.
For a couple days after this, I was looking for my coconut oil – which I usually use for this, and forgot I put it in the fridge ‘til I found it there this morning. I use this organic one, you can get it at whole foods. I just happened to be in my old neighborhood for a while, and stopped in at tjmaxx, where they were having a sale on it. I had to buy the last two there. :P.

Welp, that's all for now, New post tomorrow, but it'll be rambly, I can tell you that now.

Most Awesome Monday EVAAARRRR!!!!!

I don't know about you lot, but I had the most awesome monday ever with Aidan. ^___^. After I finished my accoutning homework, of course, lol. But I did try a new drink while I was doing my work at starbucks, it was the tazo passion lemonade thing, it was pretty tasty.

So, anyway, on to the fun stuff, we went to get me a new phone, it's a windows 7, very sleek, slim, I got a purple phone case, like, a silicone one. It's cute! I've been playing with this phone since the second I got it! weird thing, though, apparently, my contacts transfer time was the longest they've ever seen at the store. I was transferring from Android to Windows, of course so that was part of it, also, I think my phone probably shut down on them a few times (my old phone was notorious for doing that, as I think I mentioned once..or twice...)

But after we went and got my phone (Btw, I can't thank you enough, baby! <3) we went to white castle, because we'd both not been there in AGES. It was a really nice time, and we did some shopping afterwards. This is where I get like, "little kid" excited, all over again.

We went to target, and they were selling the halloween themed cereals, while I didn't see boxes of count chocula, it was okay, because I have one at home, already. I decided that since I've never tried franken and boo berry, I'd get franken berry first, and he got us some count chocula treats! I had one this morning for breakfast, and it was Super Delicious!  He got me some of the cutest Hello Kitty slippers I have EVER seen, and they are SO comfy! We also got some movies that we were both excited for. We'd both not seen Avengers yet, so we got that, 9, because I'd never seen it, and Rush Hour, because Awesome! We watched them with pizza and wings last night.

And I have an update from one of my reviews. If you remember the luster's Pink hairspray I reviewed, that I loved spraying directly to my scalp ever so much, you should know this now. I did that a few days a week maybe one or two weeks ago, and I got awful dandruff buildup. I remembered it happening before, but I didn't attribute it to the hair spray, I can confidently say that the spray is what caused it, because it's happened again. Proof? While I can't give you picture proof, I can tell you that since I've stopped spraying that candy scented stuff on my scalp, I haven't seen any of the 'ruff.

Oh, and I made a fun treat! You guys know/like s'mores, right? K, good. I made them in the oven this time, but I think these would be worthy of epic meal time status: They were double decker, with three kinds of chocolate. Healthy? Not in the least. Do we plan on eating it all in one sitting? Heck no! But maybe a small helping once in a while, because s'mores are the stuff.
Here's what they looked like - before we murdered them with a spatula
Well, I hope you all have a nice week ^___^

Review time! (last post didn't load)

This was supposed to be a hairspray review, but I don’t know how much you can really say about hairspray. I’ll talk about that a little bit, but there are a couple of other things I felt were more worthwhile to review, and I stumbled on them yesterday. The first is a lipstain I found: covergirl’s outlst lipstain. I got a deep shade, because I thought my two-tone but dark lips would benefit from a darker shade.
I’ll get to the lipstain in a second though, because I was supposed to talk about this hairspray that I rather quickly forgot about in the excitement of my other – more fun – finds.
The hairspray I got was Suave’s Extreme Hold, which looks like this:
It says that it’s unscented, but “ay, que olor!” Foul is one adjective that comes to mind when I have to hold a style with this.
Where “extreme hold” is concerned, yes, it does have that. It held my cute li’l piggytails for hours on fair day. I’d probably have still had them the next day if I hadn’t taken them down and slept so wildly…
Anysnooch, Let’s get on to the ingredients, shall we?
They are: water, dimethyl ether, SD alcohol 40-b, va/crotonates/vinyl neodecnoate copolymer, acrylates copolymer, aminomethyl propanol, sodium benzoate, cyclohexylamine, triethyl citrate, cyclopentasiloxane, sodium pca, masking fragrance, tocopherol, panthenol, butylene glycol, amp-isostearoyl hydrolyzed soy protein.
The feel: It reminds me of spritz, which I hated as a child (more for the fact that it stung than for it’s smell or the fact that it, too made my hair rather stiff and uncomfortable to touch). So, yes, as previously stated, it holds, and the hair feels stiff, as though it would break if touched roughly. (Don’t worry, it won’t. I kept touching my hair all day at the fair, and my spirals stayed until I took my hair down right before bed.)
The Verdict: While I love the hold, I’d rather have it without the stiff, cruncy feeling (which is why I always spray a coat or two of the next spray to soften it up quicker. You still get the hold, but it’ll feel nicer.)
Now onto my personal favorite hair spray. Unfortunately, I can’t remember who recommended it to me, but I thank them anyway.
Here it is:

Luster’s Pink Brand plus 2-n-1 scalp soother & oil sheen. I don’t think you can see the little straw, but it plugs into the spray nozzle, and you get a nice cool jet of soothing oil sheen directly on your scalp.
The scent is incredible! It smells just like cotton candy, which is my second favorite flavor after cherry anything.
The feel: It feels cool, refreshing, smooth, but yes, a bit heavy. Maybe I put too much on, and if you lean on anything accidentally (or on purpose, if it’s your habit), you’ll be doomed to see a bit of residue, unless it’s dried up. At least the residue will smell nice.
My hair really likes this stuff, and so do I. Though it’s probably not ideal for anyone with a really oily scalp. Mine’s pretty dry, so that’s another reason I use it.
Now, for this lip stain. I’m again comparing two. One I got today, the other I got a while ago, and kept just for these purposes…kind of…
So, the cover girl outlast lip stain 440 berry wink:
Appearance:

I thought it was pretty cute. The French bit just translates from English “lip stain”. It’s advertised to “feel 5x lighter than lipstick”. I haven’t used lipstick in a while, so I don’t know. Sure, I guess.
Here’s what happened when I put it on:

I only did the bottom to show what the top looked like when I used the other lip stain.  You can see that right here:

I need to re-do my nails, of course, but this is my old lip stain. NYC smooch proof lipstain, 16 hr.
Here’s what it looks like on the top half of my lips: Absolutely nothing. It never really did work, unfortunately (so why keep it? I was hoping that leaving it upside down for a while would help, like maybe all the “stuff” was just at the bottom? ) Well, anyway, it didn’t work. Maybe it's because I had it for months, but I don't remember that one ever doing anything for me, actually, other than smelling nice. It could just be a color that doesn't show on my lips:

Somewhat disappointing...

The NYC one still feels wet, though. And it smells nice. My new covergirl one feels wet, applies, and it’s really bright, as you can see. It also lasts for a long time (It fades, and unless you let it dry before you drink something, it can fade pretty fast), but I put my lipstain on yesterday, and even after washing my face, my lips are still stained. I like the effect, ‘cuz at least my lips aren’t two-toned anyore.  The scent would be a nice addition, but it’s not strictly necessary.
Well, have a look at my quick make:

Now, my make with *lenses:

(you can see here that the lip sain has faded, but my lips are still stained, sure enough.)

*in another post or two, I'll be reviewing my lenses as a first timer! I'm so excited!
