Awkward Turtle is Awkward

Hi, guys, as you've guessed, I've run into some awkwardness at work.

As it turns out, I'm following someone I work with on blogger (I had no idea we even lived in the same state until I saw a post with pics of a place I used to walk by all the time, only to end up months later getting hired at the same store they work at)

For me, this is awkward, as I just found out this person - of course - had the same idea as me: blog about the new store, and take pics to share with you lot. You can see how this'll be awkward, if you happen to follow her, too, she just happened to beat me to the punch, and now I'm kind of upset, I don't want to be a copycat blogging about the same store - I'm still going to because it's something I'm super excited about, and it's not my fault we both work at the same store, as you just read, I didn't even know she lived in the same state, let alone worked at the freaking mall of america...freaking A.

I"m still doing it though, but I'm gonna have to unfollow her blog, because I can't take this much awkwardness, I'm already a very awkward individual, and I know this pretty well. I've tried working on it, but it's probably just my social anxiety...I probably can do something about it, but I don't know what other than observing others and following suit.

Well, I've managed to successfully unfollow the person, so, now I can blog freely about working at Forever 21 in the mall of america (Idk if I told you guys that in an earlier post, I normally have trouble deciding what information is safe to disclose, as I sometimes get real life stalkers...k, scratch sometimes, it's a common occurence for me, so yeah, I know "why blog, even?" Idk, I just do, it's fun, whatever...

So, I'll be working the opening day at our new, very big store that's supposed to have it's own coffee shop, but after seeing the inside (I did a store set up shift where we were unloading boxes, trucks, and manequins), I'm not sure where they'd be putting it, there doesn't seem to be any room on the top floor (but I think we have two sets of escalators, so maybe I just haven't seen the entirety of it, but the bottom floor, well, that's also taken up by a lot of sections. GAAAAAAAAAAH! THE SECTIONS WE HAVE ARE SO CUUUUUUUUUUUTE,
but now I have to get back to doing homework.

it's been a while since my last update because of me not having internet, and always being at work, the last week's been a blur, such a blur that I can't tell you what I was doing on saturday, but it was probably working, really, I have no recollection of any event in question, but I'm also running on less than five hours of sleep right now, so...oh, chiz, homework!

pics and reviews later, I promise, but probably not tomorrow, 'cuz yeah...

Blogging with Friends

It's like words with friends, but you don't have pesky reminders, lollllll

Just a quick post, I've got a friend who's just started a blog, and thought it'd be sweet of you to roll on over to his page quick and take a read.

Hot running water saves lives

Or noses, at least.

Public transportation issues:

today, I was stuck on a crowded bus next to a guy who just gives off a paedo vibe, and he was stinky.

How does he give off such a vibe, you ask? (You probably didn't but I'm telling you anyway). I've been stuck behind this dude before, and maybe he's just a friendly older dude, idk, but he sits down, arranges his three bags (at least one of them is some sort of instrument (musical) holster, probably a flute or something, idk.), and starts talking to this girl who literally doesn't want anything to do with him, and he chats her ear off for the entire ride ( I only know this because that day, I happened to be looking for slug bugs, so I was tearing myself from tumblr a lot - I know, I'm an addict), until he finally got off the bus.

Today, I was expecting a very important call about my Gram, but I had my headphones in, almost full blast, and I noticed him trying to talk to me.

What goes through my mind: Eew, you stink, I'm waiting for an important call, do you not see that I just changed to song on my mp3 player, yes you do, shut the hell up, important call, is it coming yet? Not now, yet? smelly, where's the call?

That's basically how my brain was working. Rude, but truthful, and no, not of it came out of my mouth, I'm not that rude.

So anyway, I'm going about my anxious business again, and he keeps scooting closer. I'm already pissed 'cuz I'm stuck between stink, and hard bags, along with the fact that my call has still not come. So I sit up, because a of all) I've slumped down, and b of all) He's squishing me, and then he gets mad that I sat up.

I'm like (in my brain, of course), "Mothafucka, you are squishing me and you don't see me lashing the fuck out...) So pissed.

So, anyway, that was just today.

there are bus drivers who see people standing on a bus stop, or maybe they're running their hardest, and they're usually not that far away, but the bus driver just keeps going. I can understand if they're pressed for time, and really can't afford a 5 second stop, I guess, if that's possible, but I always notice that (and luckily, I'm always on these busses) they are usually early when they decide to skip these people who now have to wait an entire hour for another bus. Yeah, they probably should have been out earlier, but it's like five seconds, dude. Stop being a speed demon.

I especially hate this if later, they have a layover, anyway. Like, dude, you could have had more people if you would have taken a chill pill, yo.

Yeah...That's about it, really.

randomchizzagain

why do my own posts cause notifications on my dash? So weird.

Anysnooch, I cooked some good stuff recently, like, delicious stuff, typically smells great when you first make it. The next day or so…not so much.
So, I made these eggroll type wraps from scratch, then i made broccoli cheese rice to fill it, and added some cream cheese, ‘cuz I like cream cheese, then I found some salmon, and made some mini salmon rolls.
You can guess which ones didn’t smell the most appealing when I reheated them.
They still tasted badass, but I’m probably gonna feel bad at work when I stink up the break room with them…
And now I’m watching LuanLegacy. Cracks me up. Love the vids.

Those are the things I made, and they were delish, but they're gonna stink the break room up once I re-heat them, and that makes me sad.

I guess this is just a short post today, 'cuz...yeah.

Cat calls and other such nonsense

I was recently watching this latoya video, and it reminded me of times where guys have tried to use that method to pick me up (I've always found it disgusting, and low class).

Today, I was walking to Aiden's job to bring him some dinner on my way to work. I got off the bus, and this happened to me, again.

To make matters worse, it was an entire crowd of men (k, there were like 5-7 of them, but still), all trying to get my attention, one even started singing something about tina turner (I vaguely remember the words being "got a body/booty like tina turner")...I walk faster, dude keeps singing, and the others are still trying to talk to me, I get inside, and can see through the door's reflection that they are all now walking after me. Quickly.

This was not fun, but lucky fast walker that I am, I lost them in the skyway. It probably didn't help them that there was a security guard in there, too. Idk if that matters.

Least fun day of my life...exaggeration? the least fun bit, probably, but this did, indeed happen. I'm not sure why, nor do I really care, when there's a whole gaggle of men after you, you do not stop to question their motives, especially if you can hear them!

So, on to more happy news, it's about hte end of the semester. I'm SUCH a happy camper! I can't wait to get these classes over with. Two weeks! faoweyrtug;odfhsg;lakshgpiquyertpoiashbn;lajhsdvoiurwtoijealw;khdbviuadfsh fow
YAY!

that's all for now!

Tarting myself up for work?!?!?!

Did you guys think I'd say that I'm going to become a tart and post pics of me like that?

haha! No.

Here's what I won't be doing: Tarting myself up for a job. Unless, for some reason, I get a job at a place where it's explicitly expressed and expected that I do. However, that's not likely, because I like to wear 74359872340968572398573-57888 gagillion layers year round. -35 degree weather? You bet. 99 degree weather? Why not, I see no problem. Mo hotta, mo betta. (Foodwise, too ^_^)

here's a video for you

Pretty random. I know.

Anyway, back to why I'm not tarting myself up. I love that phrase, by the way.

There is a place that exists where people who wear more revealing clothes receive more favor than those who don't, no matter how hard they work. Which is pretty interesting, considering that the person who wears the most clothes works the hardest, but for some reason, always ends up with the short end of the stick - the hours stick, that is.

Why is this? I don't know. I can't bring myself to wear leggins as pants with my proportions, and even if my proportions were smaller, I still wouldn't because I like to be covered, and by covered, I mean, I like that someone would have to actively try to imagine what I looked like under my clothes, not just "I bet her legs probably need sun from the months of not showing them" (it's years, in my case, 'cuz I really don't like to show my legs, no matter how many compliments they receive, I just like to be warm and covered, but mostly covered.

And I'm not fond of showing my chest, either. ...or my arms...you catch my drift.

I'm not saying that one has to show off their body at any establishment for any reason unless it's their job requirement (and i admittedly don't know much about those types of jobs, anyway...), I'm just saying that if that's the culture, I'm not gonna be adhering to it any time soon just to fit in/get hours or anything.

that's really it.

Complacency = Dealbreaker?

I was reading Ebony Magazine today before work, since I got here early due to reasons that no longer matter, bad bad me, but I'm not gonna 'splain myself, 'cuz I don't gotta! Lolz.

So, anyway, I came across a section called he said/she said, I read a he said first, and his was just, ridiculous to me: it's a dealbreaker if on the first date, when he's trying to get physical, she backs away a little, like, she doesn't want his hand on her leg. It's your first date, dude, back the hell off, maybe to her you're coming on too strong, and who says you have the right to touch her body, anyway? ...digressing, next point: (of course, he withheld his name...*eyeroll *)

A woman was the first one to answer the question, though (I skip around in magazines like I do on the internet, lol.), and her turn off was complacency. It's understandable, once she states that not only is she a community activist - but also a business owner O.O Beehatch has chizz running for herself, She really is a bad mamma jamma, imo. So, anyway, she needed a man with as much drive as/more than she's got.

From her perspective, I can understand why she can deal with someone who's got a 9-5, but not someone who's got one of those and no ambition.

This is where I'm on the fence. Everyone likes to be comfortable, some people really don't need much to keep them happy. I'm like that in some respects, but I also believe that having dreams, goals, and all that jazz does, in a sense, earn points.

I'll let you lot in on something now, which may or may not be surprising, since I did go to two performing arts schools, took college art classes in middle school, and worked/volunteered, as it would have been called at the time, at a teen newspaper as both a writer and an artist - yes, I've been published, even if it was just in a teen newspaper, here's a link to their website (you won't find my stuff, anymore, it's been archived, but they do keep paper copies of old stuff in these handy 1/4 box thingies, so cool: http://www.voxteencommunications.org/newspaper/default.aspx. Fun times, for reals.

So, the thing I'm gonna let you in on is this: I want/ed to be an actress or something when I was younger/kind of still do, but I've realized that I don't need to rush it, 'cuz a of all) school is too important right now, especially so close to my first degree, for crying out loud, and b of all) I still get told I look 15 sometimes, so I can no doubt play high school kids probably into my early 30's if I really feel like it (there's one woman who I think still plays high schoolers/college kids and I think she's actually 40 or so!)

So yes, I've got goals, and ambitions, but it doesn't make my skin crawl when I hear other people say that they just want the simplest life they can get by on. Not everyone's meant to be that person who owns 5 hotels, 6 banks and 92 yachts. Not everyone want's to be that person, but I think a little drive is nice, maybe just be the best banker in your town would even be a nice goal, or whatever, you catch my drift.

What I can't deal with is someone who has no work ethic. I've known people with no work ethic, it drives me mad, especially when I'm eager to get a job done and they're just "meh, the work'll take care of itself. *rolls over in bed*".

Well, you know what, sir? No, That corn certainly will NOT schuck itself, so let's get out there and get shuckin' so we can have it done and enjoy the day, besides, SHUCKING CORN IS FUN!!!!

Actually, I don't know the first thing about corn shucking, but that's my general attitude about work. Considering that none of my work has been anything to make my stomach turn, I don't mind working early/late, all day long as I'm about to do this weekend, just give me some caffeine and let me run.

So, in short, no, I don't think complacency should be a total dealbreaker, apathy should. But that's just me. I don't own a business while being a community activist, we're all individuals with different stands on everything, so there ya go.

didn't realize this would end up being such a long post, really, lol.
